The following truths are not just “our opinion” or “our doctrine” that our church teaches. They are truths taken directly from the Bible — the name that follows each citation is the name of the book of the Bible where we find that verse. The first number is the chapter number, and the second number is the verse. You can find these verses in your Bible at home in case you want to see for yourself. These truths are the important truths you have ever heard, and they can change your life.
The Situation
1.
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” 1 John 1:8,
“...For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all..” James 2:10,
“... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,.” Romans 3:23
“...For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all..” James 2:10,
“... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,.” Romans 3:23
2.
“…the wages of sin is death...” Romans 6:23, “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8
There are two deaths in the Bible: the first death is the one here on the earth. After that, there will be a judgement before God where those that have accepted these truths and believed in Jesus Christ as the solution for their sin, will live eternally with God in heaven. Those that do not believe in Jesus Christ, and these truths will receive as judgement for their sins, the second death. The penalty is eternally cast in hell.

3.
“no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin…” Romans 3:20, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.;” Ephesians 2:8-9, “... the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord...” Romans 6:23, “being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,.” Romans 3:2
The Solution
4.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners,.” Romans 5:8, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16, “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life..” 1 John 5:11-12, “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” John 3:36, “...Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God...” 1 Peter 3:18, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12, “...For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus...”1 Timothy 2:5, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:
5.
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10, “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” Romans 10:13, Jesus said: “...he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24, “as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” John 1:12, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
This belief happens in the heart and agrees with these 5 truths. Confession is made through a simple prayer to God. In this prayer, you should communicate that you believe in Jesus as the only hope for your sin and ask Him to be your Savior. Your prayer doesn’t have to be with these exact words, but it could be something as simple as this:
God,
I know that I am a sinner and I deserve to be sent to hell. I believe that Jesus, your Son, died for me to pay the debt I owed for my sin. I confess that I need Jesus to save me, and I invite him to be my Lord and Savior. I pray these things in your Son’s name. Amen.
